Vallett (also spelled Vallette) came to Middlebury, Vt., with his father and step-mother around 1815. He was a businessman in Middlebury, as was his step-brother Russell. Another step-brother, James, was in business in Rochester, N.Y., at least for a time. Vallett's step-sister Hoppolonia married Epaphras Allen Miller and moved with him to Rochester, N.Y.
